Description:

Excellent street corner local, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. There is live music at least twice a week, and Shove-ha'penny is played - Ryde is one of the few places where a local league can be found. Parts of this very handsome pub are very ancient, going back to medieval times, and it originally fronted the sea before reclamation of land, hence the name. Beware - the public bar slopes downhill alarmingly, so it’s not that you’ve had too much!
