Description:

The building is a Grade 2 listed and has previously traded as a hairdresser, coffin storage for an undertaker, a Posting House and stables for a coaching inn. It is the Island’s newest and smallest pub, no bigger than a front room, recalling the days when there were several such establishments in Newport (though it’s unlikely its predecessors sported flock wallpaper). This is a hugely popular pub with all generations, where conversation comes easy - it can get very crowded and noisy sometimes! - and no jukebox or TV, though there is live music Sunday afternoons. No meals, but snacks are high quality locally sourced pub pies, rolls and sandwiches. In its first year of trading, it came within a hair’s breadth of topping the local Pub of the Year poll.
